Jaynic Completes 840,000 Sq Ft Weerts Group Warehouse At Suffolk Park, Bury St Edmunds

Developer Jaynic has completed construction of the 840,000 sq ft warehouse unit built for Belgian logistics giant Weerts Group International at Suffolk Park, Bury St Edmunds.

US footwear retailer Skechers is occupying 322,917 sq ft in the building with the potential to expand to 430,556 sq ft and it is using it as its UK distribution hub for its retail outlets.

Jason Newman, Construction Director of Jaynic says: “This is one of the largest warehouse units ever built in East Anglia and despite the challenges of the pandemic we have been able to deliver it within a reasonable time frame.”

Suffolk Park is Jaynic’s biggest project to date where it has developed 1.4m sq ft of space in four years after receiving consent for 2.3m sq ft of office, light industrial and warehouse space in 2017.

It has attracted many companies to the park including NHS Supply Chain, MH Star, East of England NHS Ambulance Service Trust, Sealey, Treatt plc and Hermes Parcelnet. It continues to speculatively develop at the park and will have over 200,000 sq ft of warehouse space available in Q3, 2022.
