Developer Jaynic has been appointed by London Stock Market quoted global flavour and fragrance solutions company Treatt plc to develop a new global headquarters facility at Suffolk Park, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
The new headquarters will include offices, manufacturing, logistics and a warehousing facility totalling 112,000 sq ft as a first phase with provision to expand up to 200,000 sq ft in a later phase. A detailed planning application has this week been submitted to West Suffolk Council for the first phase.
Treatt currently occupies six separate buildings on Northern Way in Bury St Edmunds. The new facility at Suffolk Park will allow them to bring all its activities onto one inclusive site.
Jason Newman, Construction Director of Jaynic, said: “we are delighted to have been appointed by Treatt to manage the development of this major facility for the company.”
Daemmon Reeve, Group CEO of Treatt, said: “Jaynic have a breadth of relevant experience and a proven track record and we are excited to have them on board for what it going to be a key part of Treatt’s future.”
An added benefit for Treatt is that the new development will be within New Anglia’s Enterprise Zone. Qualifying occupiers can obtain up to £55,000 per annum of business rates relief for five years totalling £275,000. This is a major plus for Suffolk Park and a great incentive for expanding companies in the region to consider.
The development is part of a broader multi-partner initiative with St Edmundsbury Borough Council and housebuilder Taylor Wimpey to support a range of new and existing businesses in the Bury St Edmunds area and to continue to create jobs and prosperity.
